Waxing Services By Erothots, Full Body And Brazilian

Hard wax on every sensitive area, a fresh spatula every single time it touches skin, and a private room where you are covered except for the part being worked on. Waxing is uncomfortable enough without also being undignified.

We cannot wax you if you are taking oral isotretinoin, or have taken it within the last six months. It makes skin fragile enough that waxing can lift or tear it, and that is not a risk anybody should take for smoother legs. Please also stop topical retinoids on the area five to seven days beforehand.

Tell us if you have had a chemical peel or laser treatment in the last two weeks, are sunburned, have broken skin, an active infection, raised moles or skin tags in the area, varicose veins, or diabetes with reduced sensation. Some of those change the treatment and some rule it out. We would far rather know at booking than at the door.

01

Full Body And Brazilian

Two bookings cover most of what people come to us for. Everything else on the price list can be added to either, or booked on its own.

Full Body Waxing

Full legs, full arms, underarms, stomach, back and your choice of bikini, Brazilian or Hollywood, in one appointment of around two and a half hours. Booked as a package it saves roughly sixty dollars against the same areas taken separately.

It is the appointment people book before a holiday, and the one regulars settle into every five or six weeks once they realize how much easier one long visit is than five short ones.

Brazilian Wax

Hard wax only, applied in small sections, in a private room with the door closed. You are covered except for the section being worked on, you set the pace, and you can stop at any point without needing a reason.

Thirty minutes for a regular client and closer to forty five for a first appointment, because the first one is slower on purpose and there is a proper conversation before anything begins.

  • Time30 to 45 minutes
  • Wax UsedHard wax, no strips
  • RebookEvery 4 to 5 weeks
We do not wax faces or eyebrows. Facial skin is thin, and wax lifts a layer of it along with the hair, which is a genuine problem for anyone using retinol or with sensitive skin. Everything on the face is threaded here instead, which grips hair only and gives a considerably more precise line.
02

Hard Wax Or Soft Wax

These are two genuinely different products and using the wrong one on the wrong area is the reason waxing hurts more in some places than others.

Hard wax is applied thick and left to set. As it cools it shrinks and grips around each hair rather than sticking to the skin underneath, then it is lifted off in one piece with no strip. Because it is not bonded to your skin, it takes far less of the surface with it, which is why it is the only thing we use on intimate areas, underarms and anywhere the skin is thin.

Soft wax is spread in a thin layer and removed with a muslin strip. It grips the skin as well as the hair, which makes it faster over large flat areas like legs, arms and backs, and considerably more irritating if the same patch is worked twice.

How to check anywhere else. Ask what they use for a Brazilian. If the answer is strip wax, book somewhere else. Strip wax on that area is more painful, lifts more skin and is far more likely to leave you sore for days.
Hard wax grips the hair. Soft wax grips you.
Fresh disposable spatulas beside a wax pot at the Erothots salon

A Spatula Goes In Once, Then In The Bin

03

Nothing Goes Back In The Pot

Double dipping is when a spatula that has already touched your skin is dipped back into the shared wax pot for more. It is quicker, it wastes less wax, and it is completely routine in a great many salons.

It also means the pot now contains whatever was on your skin, kept warm, ready for the next person. The wax is not hot enough to sterilize anything, whatever anybody tells you. This is the single most important question to ask any waxing salon and almost nobody asks it.

  • One spatula, one dip, then binned. Every time. On a full body appointment that is a great many spatulas, and that is simply the cost of doing it properly.
  • Fresh couch roll for every client. Changed in front of you, along with a clean towel and fresh disposable underwear if you want it.
  • Gloves worn throughout. Changed between areas on the same client, not just between clients.
  • Wax heated to a working temperature, not a hot one. Tested on the inside of the wrist before it goes anywhere near you, every single pot, every single time.
  • Nothing waxed over broken skin. Cuts, spots that have been picked, sunburn or any inflammation and we work around it or stop.
  • Pots cleaned and wax replaced on a schedule. Not topped up indefinitely, which is what happens when a pot has never been emptied.
Ask us to show you. Genuinely. If you want to watch the spatula go in the bin, say so and we will make a point of it. Anyone doing this properly will be pleased you asked rather than defensive about it.
04

Why Timing Changes Everything

Hair does not all grow at once. It runs in three phases, and only hair in the first phase is properly attached to a follicle that waxing can empty. Understanding this is the difference between waxing that gets better every time and waxing that feels like it never quite works.

Phase 01Anagen

Active Growth

The hair is attached to its blood supply and growing. Waxed at this stage the follicle is emptied cleanly and the hair that replaces it comes back finer. This is the phase you want as many hairs as possible to be in.

Phase 02Catagen

Transition

Growth has stopped and the hair is detaching. Waxing here removes it, but the follicle underneath is already preparing a replacement, so regrowth appears sooner than you would expect.

Phase 03Telogen

Resting

The follicle is dormant with a new hair forming beneath. Nothing on the surface to remove, and that new hair will emerge over the following days regardless of what was waxed.

This is why you see stubble four days after a wax. It is not regrowth of what was removed. It is hair that was sitting in the resting phase below the surface on the day, emerging on its own schedule. Nothing has gone wrong, and picking up a razor at that point resets the whole cycle.
01

Wait Three Weeks After Shaving

Hair needs to be around a quarter of an inch for wax to grip it, which is roughly two to three weeks of growth. Shorter than that and half of it will not come out, which means going over the same skin twice for a poorer result.

02

Rebook At Four To Six Weeks

Four to five for intimate areas where growth is faster, five to six for legs and arms. Leaving it longer means more hair has cycled back into the resting phase and the whole thing takes longer to bring under control.

03

Do Not Shave In Between

The single most common reason waxing does not improve for people. Shaving cuts hair mid shaft and resets the cycle so nothing ever syncs. The gap between appointments is uncomfortable for the first two months and then it stops being an issue.

04

By The Third Or Fourth Appointment

This is when people notice the change. Hairs are syncing into the same phase, regrowth is sparser and finer, and the appointment itself is genuinely less uncomfortable than the first one was. Almost everyone who gives up does so before reaching this point.

What the three intimate options actually mean. Bikini line takes everything outside the underwear line. Extended goes further in, roughly a couple of inches. Brazilian removes everything front and back with the option of leaving a strip or triangle. Hollywood removes everything, with nothing left. Nobody should have to guess at this, and we will confirm exactly what you want before starting.
06

Comfort, Privacy And Consent

Intimate waxing asks a lot of a person, particularly a first time. Here is exactly what happens in the room, written down, so you know before you arrive rather than finding out while lying on a couch.

Room 01

A Private Room, Door Closed

Not a curtain and not a corner of a shared space. The door is closed and it stays closed, and nobody walks in mid appointment for anything.

Room 02

Covered Except The Section

You are covered with a towel throughout, and only the small section being worked on is uncovered at any moment. Disposable underwear is available if you would prefer it.

Room 03

You Can Stop, Any Time

Say stop and everything stops, with no explanation required and no attempt to talk you into continuing. You pay for what has been done and nothing more.

Room 04

No Commentary On Your Body

None. Not about hair, not about skin, not about anything. Your therapist will tell you what she is about to do and nothing else, and there is no such thing as too much hair to arrive with.

Room 05

Told Before Every Strip

You know where the next one is and when it is coming. Being surprised is most of what makes waxing feel worse than it is, and it is entirely avoidable.

Room 06

First Time Is Slower

We book forty five minutes rather than thirty, so there is time to talk it through, go at your pace and stop for a moment if you need to. There is no extra charge for that.

Things that genuinely help. Book for the middle of your cycle rather than the few days before a period, when skin is more sensitive. Skip coffee that morning. Wear loose clothing you will be comfortable putting back on. And breathe out as the strip comes away rather than holding your breath, which is the one piece of advice every regular ends up passing on.
07

Ingrown Hairs

The most common complaint after waxing, and the most preventable. An ingrown happens when a new hair cannot break through the surface, either because dead skin has closed over the follicle or because the hair curls back on itself. Friction from tight clothing makes both considerably more likely.

Almost everything that prevents them is free, and almost everything that makes them worse feels like the sensible thing to do at the time.

Soothing aftercare being applied following a wax at Erothots
  • Start exfoliating on day three, not before. The skin needs seventy two hours to settle first. After that, gently, two or three times a week, every week between appointments.
  • Use a chemical exfoliant, not a scrub. A salicylic or glycolic product dissolves the dead skin blocking the follicle. Scrubbing irritates the surface and can push a hair further under.
  • Moisturize daily. Dry skin is thicker and harder for a new hair to push through. This is the least exciting item on the list and it does more than most of the others.
  • Loose clothing for forty eight hours. Especially after intimate waxing. Tight seams and friction on freshly waxed skin is the reliable route to bumps three days later.
  • Never dig one out. Not with tweezers, not with a needle. That is how a minor ingrown becomes an infected one and how scarring starts. If one is inflamed and painful, see a doctor.
  • Tell us where you get them. If you consistently get ingrowns in one area, we can change how we work it and recommend something specific rather than giving you the general advice.
They get rarer with time. Regular waxing produces finer, weaker regrowth that breaks through the surface far more easily. Most people who stick with a four to six week rhythm find ingrowns largely stop being a problem by the fourth or fifth appointment.
08

How Your Appointment Works

Seven stages. The first one is a conversation and the last one is why you do not leave with the area still stinging.

01

Consultation And Skin Check

Medication, recent treatments, skin conditions and what you actually want removed. For intimate waxing we confirm exactly which option you mean rather than assuming, because the terms mean different things in different places.

02

Privacy And Positioning

Door closed, fresh couch roll, clean towel. You are shown how to position yourself and left alone to get ready. Nothing starts until you say you are ready.

03

Cleanse And Prepare

The area is cleansed and a light pre wax product applied, which lifts oil and moisture so the wax grips hair rather than skin. Hair over half an inch is trimmed first so the wax can work properly.

04

Wax Tested, Then Applied

Temperature checked on the inside of the wrist before every pot. Applied in the direction of growth, in small sections, with a fresh spatula that goes in the bin rather than back in the pot.

05

Skin Held, Then Removed

Skin held taut with one hand, removal fast and against the growth with the other. Immediate pressure on the area straight afterward, which genuinely reduces how much it stings.

06

Tidying And Checking

Any stray hairs tweezed rather than waxed again over the same skin. You are offered a mirror for intimate work, and asked whether you want anything adjusted before we finish.

07

Soothe And Aftercare

A calming product to close the follicles and settle the redness, then written aftercare. Most redness has gone within a couple of hours, and the first twenty four are the ones that matter.

09

What Usually Goes Wrong Elsewhere

Six things clients describe about waxing somewhere else. Three are hygiene, two are technique and one is about how they were treated.

Double Dipping

The spatula goes back in the shared pot after touching skin. Quick, saves wax, and it means the pot holds whatever was on the last person, kept warm at working temperature.

Here InsteadOne dip per spatula, then binned. Ask to watch and we will make a point of showing you.

Strip Wax On A Brazilian

Faster than hard wax, and considerably more painful on the thinnest skin on the body. It grips skin as well as hair and frequently leaves clients sore for days afterward.

Here InsteadHard wax on every intimate area without exception. It is slower and it is the right product.

Going Over The Same Patch Repeatedly

Hair was too short to grip, so the area is waxed two or three times. With strip wax that lifts the surface layer and leaves a raw patch that takes days to settle.

Here InsteadStrays are tweezed rather than rewaxed, and we will tell you honestly if hair is too short to work with.

Wax Too Hot

Not tested before application, or tested once at the start of the day. Burns from overheated wax are more common than anybody admits and they can blister.

Here InsteadTemperature tested on the wrist before every pot and every client, without exception.

Nothing Said Before Each Strip

Silence, then a sudden pull from somewhere you were not expecting. Being surprised is most of what makes waxing feel worse than it actually is.

Here InsteadYou are told where the next one is and when it is coming, every time.

Comments About Your Body

Remarks about how much hair there is, how long it has been, or anything else. Clients remember these for years and frequently never book waxing anywhere again.

Here InsteadNo commentary of any kind. There is no such thing as arriving with too much hair.
10

Things To Consider

01

The First One Is The Worst

Genuinely. Hair is at its coarsest and the follicles have never been emptied. It is noticeably easier by the third appointment and most people who quit do so before finding that out.

02

You Have To Grow It Out

Two to three weeks between shaving and your first wax, and no shaving in between afterward. That gap is the part people find hardest, and there is no way around it.

03

Not Before A Beach Day

Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to sun and to chlorine or salt water. Allow forty eight hours before swimming, sunbathing, saunas or a heavy gym session.

04

Some Medication Rules It Out

Oral isotretinoin is an absolute no for six months after finishing. Topical retinoids on the area need five to seven days. Tell us what you take and we will advise honestly.

11

Who Will Treat You

You can request a therapist by name when you book. For intimate waxing you can also request the same person every time, which most regulars end up doing.

Imani Brooks, waxing specialist at the Erothots beauty salon
Waxing Specialist

Imani Brooks

Imani does all the intimate waxing here. She is fast, which matters more than anything else in this particular service, and she talks you through every strip before it happens rather than working in silence. She is also the person who insisted the first appointment gets forty five minutes rather than thirty, at no extra charge, because rushing somebody through their first Brazilian is how you never see them again.

Waxing Questions

How Much Does Waxing Cost

Underarms from $20, stomach $25, half arm $28, bikini line $30, half leg $38, chest and full arm $40, back and extended bikini $45, full leg and Brazilian $60, Hollywood $70. Packages are half leg with bikini at $60, full leg with Brazilian at $110 and full body at $180.

Do You Wax Faces Or Eyebrows

No. Facial skin is thin and wax lifts a layer of it along with the hair, which is a real problem for anyone using retinol or with sensitive skin. Everything on the face is threaded here instead, from $15, which grips hair only and gives a far more precise line.

Hard Wax Or Soft Wax

Hard wax on every intimate area, underarms and anywhere the skin is thin, because it grips the hair rather than the skin and takes far less of the surface with it. Soft wax on legs, arms, back and chest, where it is faster over large flat areas. If a salon offers you strip wax for a Brazilian, book somewhere else.

How Long Does My Hair Need To Be

About a quarter of an inch, which is roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Shorter than that and the wax cannot grip it, which means going over the same skin twice for a worse result. Anything much longer than half an inch we trim first.

Does It Hurt

Yes, briefly, and the first appointment is the worst one you will have. Hard wax is noticeably kinder than strip wax, and being told where each strip is coming makes a genuine difference. By the third or fourth appointment hair is finer and most people describe it as easily manageable.

Do You Double Dip

Never. A spatula goes into the pot once, onto your skin, and then into the bin. Double dipping puts whatever was on your skin back into a shared pot kept at working temperature, and the wax is not hot enough to sterilize anything. Ask to watch and we will make a point of showing you.

How Often Should I Come Back

Four to five weeks for intimate areas and five to six for legs and arms. Sticking to that rhythm is what syncs the growth cycle, and by the third or fourth appointment regrowth is noticeably sparser and finer. Do not shave in between, because it resets everything.

Can I Be Waxed On Accutane Or Retinol

Not on oral isotretinoin, and not for six months after finishing it, because it makes skin fragile enough that waxing can lift or tear it. Topical retinoids on the area need stopping five to seven days beforehand. Tell us what you use at booking and we will advise honestly.

What Is The Difference Between Bikini, Brazilian And Hollywood

Bikini line removes everything outside the underwear line. Extended bikini goes a couple of inches further in. Brazilian removes everything front and back, with the option of leaving a strip or triangle. Hollywood removes everything with nothing left. We confirm exactly which you mean before starting rather than assuming.

How Do I Stop Getting Ingrown Hairs

Start exfoliating on day three, not before, then two or three times a week with a chemical exfoliant rather than a scrub. Moisturize daily, wear loose clothing for the first forty eight hours, and never dig one out. They also get much rarer by the fourth or fifth appointment as regrowth becomes finer.

Can I Be Waxed On My Period

Yes, and plenty of people are. Wear a tampon or a cup for intimate waxing and simply mention it when you arrive. Skin is more sensitive in the few days before and during a period, so if you have flexibility, the middle of your cycle is a more comfortable time to book.

How Long Does Waxing Last

Four to six weeks before you need rebooking, though you will see some stubble around day four. That is not regrowth of what was removed. It is hair that was resting below the surface on the day emerging on its own schedule, and picking up a razor at that point resets the whole cycle.
