Six things happen in a haircut appointment here, and the first one is the reason the other five work. Everything is priced as one service. There are no extras added at the desk.
If the cut only works on the day you leave the salon, it is not finished.
Not a menu of trends. These are the six structural directions a cut can take, and which one suits you depends far more on your density and growth pattern than on what is fashionable this season.
Movement without losing length. The risk with layers is taking too much weight out, which leaves the ends thin and the shape hollow. We layer to your density, so fine hair keeps its perimeter and thick hair loses the bulk that makes it triangular.
One length, one weight line, nowhere to hide. A bob shows every millimetre of error, which is why it is the cut that separates salons. It also grows out faster than long hair, so plan on returning sooner.
The fastest way to change how a face reads without changing the length. Cut dry, always, because a fringe cut wet will sit a full inch higher once it dries. Trims between appointments are included.
The most freeing cut and the least forgiving schedule. A pixie looks intentional for about five weeks and shapeless by eight, so it only works if you can commit to the return visits. We will say this plainly before you cut.
Curls are cut dry and in their natural pattern, curl by curl, because a curl stretched flat and cut wet lands somewhere completely different once it springs back. Needs a longer slot, so mention it when you book.
A full change of direction rather than a maintenance visit. Booked as a longer appointment with an extended consultation, because deciding takes as long as cutting. If the change is drastic we may recommend doing it in two stages.

You sit down with your hair as you normally wear it. We look at growth pattern, density, texture, where it parts naturally and where it fights you. Nothing is touched yet.
We look at your photos and talk about what is achievable on your hair, which is not always what is in the picture. Reference hair is often a different density, texture or length to begin with.
Before anything is cut, we agree the length, the weight and the amount of layering in plain terms. The price is confirmed here. Nothing changes at the end.
A proper wash rather than a rinse, with a few minutes at the scalp. Curly cuts skip this stage, since the hair needs to stay in its natural pattern for the cut.
Sectioned, cut and cross checked. Your stylist takes the appointment start to finish. Nobody is handed to an assistant halfway and no second client is started in your slot.
The shape is checked again once it is dry, because hair rises as it dries and a cut that looked balanced wet often is not. Adjustments happen here, not at your next appointment.
Blow dried and finished, then a short routine you can actually repeat. We will book your next cut before you leave if you want the same slot held.
Six factors decide whether a cut works, and face shape is not the most important one on the list. These are what we actually look at in the consultation.
Density is how many hairs you have. Texture is how thick each one is. You can have a lot of fine hair or a little coarse hair, and the two need opposite approaches.
A cowlick at the front line decides whether a fringe is possible at all. Working against one means fighting it every single morning for the life of the cut.
The single most useful thing you can tell us. A cut built for twenty minutes of styling will disappoint you daily if you have five, however good it looked here.
These need different cuts. Air dried hair needs weight left in to control the drying pattern. Blow dried hair can carry more layering because heat does the shaping.
Useful as a guide for where to place the shortest face framing pieces, not as a rule about what you are allowed to have. Anyone who tells you a shape is forbidden is guessing.
If you are growing out a previous cut we shape around that plan rather than against it. Say so at the consultation and the cut changes completely.

Bangs grow into your eyeline long before the rest of the cut goes. Come back as often as you need between appointments at no charge.
