Facial And Skincare Treatments By Erothots, Hydrafacial

Two core treatments, one honest consultation, and a written plan you can follow whether or not you book again. We treat the skin you have on the day rather than the skin in the photograph you brought.

Please Tell Us Before You Book

We are a beauty salon, not a medical clinic. There are situations where we will not treat you, and we would far rather say so now than turn you away at the door. Tell us if you are taking or have recently finished oral isotretinoin, if you have had a laser treatment, peel or injectable in the last two weeks, if you have an active cold sore or broken skin on the face, or if you are pregnant or nursing.

None of these mean no forever. Most simply change the treatment, the actives we use, or the timing. Anything that needs a doctor rather than an esthetician, we will tell you plainly and send you to one.

The Two Core Treatments

Hydrafacial Or Classic Facial

They are not competing versions of the same thing. One is a machine assisted resurfacing treatment with no downtime. The other is a hands on facial with manual extractions and a long massage. Most people need one considerably more than the other.

01 Machine Assisted

Hydrafacial

Hydrafacial treatment being carried out at the Erothots salon

A vacuum tipped device cleanses, exfoliates, extracts and infuses serum in a single pass. Because suction lifts congestion out rather than pressure squeezing it out, there is almost no redness afterwards and you can wear makeup the same day.

It is the treatment for congestion, dullness and dehydration, and it is the one to book when you need visible results quickly and cannot afford a single day of looking treated. Boosters can be added for pigmentation, fine lines or sensitivity.

02 Hands On

Classic Facial

Classic facial with manual massage at the Erothots beauty salon

Double cleanse, steam, manual extractions where they are needed, a mask chosen on the day, and fifteen minutes of facial and neck massage. Everything is done by hand, adjusted continuously to what your skin is doing under the therapist's fingers.

It is the better treatment for stubborn congestion that needs real extraction time, for barrier repair, and for anyone who wants the appointment to feel like an hour of genuine rest rather than a clinical procedure.

Start With Your Concern, Not The Treatment

Almost everyone books by treatment name and then finds out it was not the right one. Find your concern below and it will tell you where to start.

01

Congestion And Blackheads

Blocked pores across the nose, chin and forehead. Hydrafacial lifts them out with suction and no bruising. For stubborn, long standing congestion, manual extraction in a classic facial gets further, and a short course usually clears more than one appointment ever will.

Start With Hydrafacial
02

Dullness And Flat Tone

Skin that looks tired in photographs regardless of how much sleep you had. This is usually dead cell build up sitting on the surface and scattering light. Exfoliation and hydration together fix it faster than either alone.

Start With Hydrafacial
03

Dehydration And Tightness

Tight after cleansing, makeup sitting badly, fine lines that appear and disappear. Dehydrated skin lacks water, not oil, which is why rich creams often do not fix it. Oily skin can be badly dehydrated at the same time.

Start With Hydrafacial
04

Sensitivity And Redness

Stinging, flushing and reacting to products that used to be fine. Usually a damaged barrier, and very often caused by too much exfoliation rather than too little. The answer here is to do less, not more, and we will say so.

Start With Classic Facial
05

Rough Texture And Fine Lines

Skin that feels uneven under your fingertips and does not reflect light evenly. Regular resurfacing plus consistent home care changes this over months rather than in one appointment, and anyone promising otherwise is overselling.

Start With Hydrafacial
06

Uneven Tone And Marks

Dark marks left behind after breakouts, or patches that developed with sun and hormones. Facials help gradually with a brightening booster and diligent sun protection. Deeper pigmentation needs a medical practitioner, and we will tell you when that line has been crossed.

Setting Expectations

How Deep A Facial Actually Works

Skincare marketing is vague about depth on purpose. Here is the honest version, including the point where a salon has to stop and a doctor has to start.

Layer 01

The Surface

Dead cells, oil, makeup residue and pollution sitting on top. This is where dullness lives, and it is why a good cleanse and exfoliation produces such an immediate change in how skin reflects light.

Both Treatments
Layer 02

The Pore

Congestion, blackheads and blocked follicles. Reached by suction in a hydrafacial or by manual extraction in a classic facial. Both work, they simply get there differently.

Both Treatments
Layer 03

The Upper Epidermis

Where hydration, brightening serums and barrier repair actually take effect. Change here is real but gradual, and it needs consistency across months rather than a single appointment.

With A Course And Home Care
Layer 04

The Dermis

Collagen, deep pigmentation, scarring and structural lines. No facial reaches this layer, whatever the brochure claims. This needs a medical practitioner and a different category of treatment.

Not Offered Here
Why we are telling you this. A facial cannot remove deep scarring, lift structural sagging or erase established pigmentation. It can transform how your skin looks and behaves at the first three levels, which is a great deal, and it is what we will honestly promise you.
On The Day

How Your Appointment Works

Six stages, the same for both treatments. The first one is free and you are under no obligation to book anything after it.

01

Consultation And Skin History

What you use, what has reacted before, your medication, your sun habits and what is actually bothering you. Skin history explains far more than skin type ever does, and this stage is free whether or not you book a treatment.

02

Skin Analysis Under Light

Cleansed and examined under a magnifying lamp. Congestion, dehydration, barrier damage and sensitivity all look completely different up close, and several of them look identical from a normal distance.

03

The Honest Plan

Which treatment you need today, how many appointments your goal genuinely takes, and whether a doctor would serve you better than we can. The price is confirmed here, before anything begins.

04

The Treatment

Carried out by your therapist from start to finish, adjusted as your skin responds. If something stings or feels wrong, say so at the time and it is changed immediately rather than pushed through.

05

Protection And Finish

Barrier support and sun protection before you leave, without exception. Freshly exfoliated skin is far more vulnerable to UV, and skipping this undoes a meaningful part of what was just done.

06

A Written Home Plan

Handed to you, not recited while you pay. Morning and evening steps, what to stop using and for how long. If your current products are working, we will tell you to keep them.

Know Your Skin

Skin Types And What They Actually Need

Skin type is what you were born with. Skin condition is what is happening right now, and it changes with season, stress, hormones and whatever you have been putting on your face. We treat the condition.

Skin being analysed under a magnifying lamp before a facial at Erothots

Analysed Under Magnification Before Anything Is Chosen

Type 01

Oily

Produces excess sebum, congests easily, tolerates exfoliation well. The classic mistake is stripping it, which triggers even more oil. Balance beats aggression every time.

Type 02

Dry

Lacks oil rather than water. Feels rough and flaky, looks fine and papery. Needs lipids and gentle exfoliation, and reacts badly to strong acids used too often.

Type 03

Combination

Oily through the centre, normal or dry at the cheeks. The most common type by far, and the reason a single product applied all over rarely suits an entire face.

Type 04

Sensitive

Flushes, stings and reacts. Frequently not a type at all but a damaged barrier caused by over exfoliation, in which case it can genuinely be repaired over a few weeks.

Condition

Dehydrated

Short of water, not oil. Any skin type can be dehydrated, including very oily skin, which is why so many people treat the wrong problem for years.

Condition

Compromised Barrier

Stinging, tightness and sudden reactions to old favourites. Almost always too many actives at once. The treatment is to remove things, not to add another product.

The most common thing we see. Over exfoliated skin that its owner believes is naturally sensitive. Three actives, a scrub and a cleansing device, all at once. Stopping most of that for four weeks fixes more faces than any facial we sell.
Why It Works

Benefits And Advantages Of Booking Here

What you get here that a treatment room selling packages at the door cannot offer.

01

The Consultation Is Free

Come in, have your skin analysed under magnification, and leave with a written plan without booking a treatment. Plenty of people do exactly that and we are glad to see them.

02

No Package Selling

You will not be walked to the desk and pressed into a course of ten. If a course genuinely helps we will say how many and why, and you can think about it at home.

03

We Say When It Is A Doctor's Job

Deep pigmentation, cystic acne, suspicious moles and structural change are all outside what a facial can do. Being told that is worth more than a treatment that was never going to work.

04

Written Home Care

Handed over on paper rather than recited at the till. Most of the result comes from what you do at home for the next four weeks, so it should not depend on your memory.

05

Sun Protection Before You Leave

Never skipped. Freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily, and sending someone out without it would undo the work we just charged them for.

06

A Hair Salon In The Same Building

Skin prep, hair and makeup for an event can be planned on one timeline, which matters because skin needs days to settle and hair does not.

Common Complaints

What Usually Goes Wrong With Facials Elsewhere

Six things clients describe about a previous facial before they describe their skin.

Sold A Course At The Door

A package of ten pushed before the therapist has properly looked at the skin. The commitment is made on the first visit, when nobody yet knows how the skin will respond.

Here InsteadNo package selling at the desk. If a course helps we say how many and why, and you decide at home.

The Same Facial For Every Face

One protocol, one product line, applied identically whether the client is oily and congested or dry with a broken barrier. It suits some people by accident.

Here InsteadAnalysed under magnification first, and the treatment chosen for what is actually there today.

Extractions Forced Too Hard

Persistent squeezing on congestion that was never going to release. It bruises, it can scar, and it leaves the client red for two days for very little gain.

Here InsteadExtraction stops when the skin says stop. Stubborn congestion is cleared across appointments rather than forced in one.

No Sun Protection Afterwards

Client sent out with freshly exfoliated skin and no SPF. This is the single most damaging thing a treatment room can do, and it is extremely common.

Here InsteadApplied before you leave, every time, and included in the treatment price.

Booked The Day Before An Event

A first facial the day before a wedding. Extractions and actives can bring congestion to the surface, and that timing is exactly when it will show.

Here InsteadWe will move your booking rather than take it. Five to seven days ahead, and never a first ever facial that week.

Medical Problems Treated As Beauty

Cystic acne, rosacea flares and suspicious pigmentation treated with facials month after month, when the client needed a referral on the first visit.

Here InsteadWe tell you plainly when something is outside our scope, even though it costs us the booking.

Before You Arrive

Preparation And Timing Around Events

Facial timing is where most skin disasters happen, and every one of them is avoidable with a calendar.

Sun protection being applied at the end of a facial at Erothots

Sun Protection Applied Before You Leave, Every Time

  • Pause retinol for five to seven days. Retinoids thin the surface layer and make exfoliation far more aggressive than intended. This is the most important line on this list.
  • No waxing on the face for a week beforehand. Or afterwards. Waxing already removes surface skin, and combining the two in the same week is how people end up genuinely raw.
  • Skip acids and scrubs for three days. Your therapist will exfoliate. Arriving already exfoliated means having to do less, or having to reschedule.
  • Come with a clean face if you can. Not essential, since we double cleanse anyway, but it gives more time for treatment and less for removal.
  • Bring photographs of your products. The labels, not the fronts of the bottles. Half of all skin problems we see are caused by something already in the bathroom.
  • Say if you have a cold sore history. Facial treatment can trigger an outbreak, and there are ways to work around it if we know in advance.
  • Never book a first facial the week of an event. Five to seven days minimum for a classic facial, two to three for a hydrafacial, and ideally a trial run a month before.
Planning for a wedding. Start four to six months out with monthly appointments, then have your last treatment about two weeks before the day. That gives every possible reaction time to settle and gives us time to adjust the plan if your skin does something unexpected.
Aftercare

The First Seventy Two Hours

Six rules. Most of what a facial achieves is either protected or thrown away in the three days afterwards.

Care 01

Wear Sun Protection Daily

Not just on sunny days. Freshly exfoliated skin pigments far more easily, and UV exposure now is what turns a treated breakout into a mark that lasts months.

Care 02

No Actives For Three Days

No retinol, no acids, no vitamin C, no scrubs. Your skin has had its exfoliation for the week. Adding more is how a good facial turns into a bad reaction.

Care 03

Skip Heat And Sweat For A Day

No sauna, steam room, hot yoga or heavy gym session for twenty four hours. Open pores plus heat and sweat is the reliable route to congestion.

Care 04

Leave Your Face Alone

Do not pick at anything that comes to the surface. It will settle in a couple of days if left, and it will scar if it is not.

Care 05

Expect Purging, Briefly

Extraction can bring congestion that was already forming up to the surface within a few days. It is normal, it is short, and it is why event timing matters so much.

Care 06

Keep It Simple For A Week

Cleanser, moisturiser, sun protection. That is the whole routine for seven days. Simplicity is what lets the treatment settle rather than compete with your shelf.

Who You Will Meet

The Skincare Team

You can request a therapist by name when you book. If they are unavailable on your date we will tell you rather than quietly reassign you.

Amara Sinclair, lead esthetician at the Erothots beauty salon
Lead Esthetician

Amara Sinclair

Amara runs the skincare side of the salon. She spends longer on consultation than most therapists spend on the whole appointment, because the analysis is where the result is decided. She is also the person most likely to tell you to stop using three of your products for a month, which fixes more faces than anything she could sell you.

Common Questions

Facial And Skincare Questions

Which Should I Book, Hydrafacial Or Classic Facial

Hydrafacial if you want visible results with no downtime, particularly for congestion, dullness and dehydration, or if you have an event within a few days. Classic facial if you want thorough manual extractions, barrier repair, or an hour that actually feels restful. If you are unsure, the consultation is free and takes twenty minutes.

How Much Do Facials Cost

The consultation is free. An express facial starts at $55, a classic facial at $85, a deep cleansing and extraction facial at $110, a hydrafacial at $175 and a hydrafacial with booster at $225. LED and dermaplaning add ons are $40 and $45. Sun protection and a written home plan are included in every treatment.

How Often Should I Have A Facial

Every four to six weeks, which follows the skin's natural renewal cycle. For congestion or texture, four to six treatments spaced four weeks apart will do considerably more than the same money spent on one appointment.

Will A Facial Make Me Break Out

Sometimes, briefly. Extraction and exfoliation can bring congestion that was already forming up to the surface within a few days. It settles quickly, but it is exactly why we will not book a first ever facial the week of an event.

How Long Before An Event Should I Book

Two to three days for a hydrafacial, five to seven days for a classic facial. Never a first ever facial in the same week. For a wedding, start four to six months out with monthly appointments and finish about two weeks before the day.

Do I Need To Stop My Retinol First

Yes, five to seven days before your appointment, and for three days afterwards. Retinoids thin the surface layer, which makes exfoliation far more aggressive than intended. Please also avoid acids and scrubs for three days beforehand.

Can I Have A Facial If I Am Pregnant

In most cases yes, with the treatment adjusted and certain actives left out. Tell us at booking rather than on the day so the protocol can be planned properly. Anything you are unsure about is a conversation for you and your doctor rather than for us.

Can I Have A Facial On Accutane

No, and not for a period after finishing it either. Oral isotretinoin makes skin extremely fragile and exfoliation or extraction can cause real damage. Tell us at booking, follow your doctor's guidance on timing, and come back to us afterwards.

Will A Facial Get Rid Of My Acne

Facials help meaningfully with congestion, blackheads and mild breakouts. They do not treat moderate to severe or cystic acne, which is a medical condition needing a doctor. We will tell you which side of that line you are on at the consultation rather than selling you a course that was never going to work.

Can A Facial Remove Wrinkles Or Scarring

No. Both sit in the dermis, and no facial reaches that layer whatever the marketing says. Facials genuinely improve texture, tone, hydration and how light reflects off the skin, which changes how you look considerably. Anything structural needs a medical practitioner.

Is My Sensitive Skin Really Sensitive

Very often it is a damaged barrier rather than a skin type, caused by too many actives at once. The good news is that a damaged barrier repairs in four to six weeks if you stop overloading it. We can tell the difference under the magnifying lamp.

Do You Sell Courses Or Packages

We will tell you honestly when a course of four to six treatments will produce a better result, because for congestion and texture it genuinely does. You can book them one at a time. Nobody will be pressed into paying upfront for ten treatments at the desk.
